He romanticized Detroit. She rejected it. But what they shared was a belief in communism, a thirst for tequila and a passion for each other.
Playing off that dynamic relationship, these two spots tease the landmark exhibit of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera's work at the DIA. It was an important exhibit for the museum, which houses a monumental mural of Rivera's (painted on site in the 1930's) and had never exhibited Kahlo's work before.
Working with Leo Burnet Detroit, we crafted a look for the campaign that complimented the couple's heritage without compromising their artistic integrity.
